NEW HOPE Group has continued to prepare local businesses on how to secure work on the New Acland Stage 3 Project through two Tender Readiness Workshops held last week in Oakey and Toowoomba.
The workshops followed two similar sessions in October and provided business owners with a more in-depth break down of how to navigate the procurement process.
General Manager Projects Gerry Randell said New Hope was dedicated to supporting local businesses and used the sessions to educate businesses on how best to equip themselves to meet the requirements as New Hope goods and services providers.
“The workshops helped local business owners learn how to prepare for working on the mine, what work packages are most appropriate for their business and how to submit their completed tenders.
“We had over 110 business owners at the workshops and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive,” he said.
Mike Swart from Industry Capability Network (ICN) said he received encouraging feedback from participants.
“The response and feedback from local businesses in relation to the Project has been great.
“The information New Hope provided gave local businesses an understanding of where the Project is at and where to from here,” he said.
Both the information sessions and the workshops were supported by industry representative groups Industry Capability Network, Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise and the Toowoomba and Oakey Chambers of Commerce.
In Queensland, ICN is a team within QMI Solutions that connects local suppliers to major projects.
